Description Job Role

HMP Berwyn offers exceptional learning & skill provision, with a focus on rehabilitation, to the men it houses. The curriculum offer supports this process and we are seeking exceptional staff to help us deliver this agenda across a wide range of areas.

As directed by the Head of Learning and Skills, and in close liaison with Novus Cambria shared service departments,

To assist the Business Systems Analyst in the implementation and maintenance of systems to monitor the performance, achievements and goals set for learner progress along with the performance of all onsite staff.
To assist the Business Systems Analyst with the overall development and support of the Information Systems used for recording Learner information
To assist the Business Systems Analyst to accurately capture, store and report on operational and performance data for internal and external stakeholders.
To assist the Business Systems Analyst to further develop internal systems to support the needs of the organisation, and to support staff in the use of all business systems.
To contribute to the work of Novus Cambria’s Management Team in order to fulfil the organisation’s strategic aims.

Key Accountabilities
- To provide technical support and maintenance for all Learner Information Systems. Ensuring user interfaces are up to date and fit for purpose.
- To assist with the day-to-day administration and user support of Novus Cambria’s management information systems operating within Coleg Berwyn at HMP Berwyn.
- To support in the provision of detailed reporting, analyses and interpretation of information contained within the college’s MIS systems.
- Contribute to the accuracy and timeliness of the Performance Management information reporting schedule submissions to stakeholders, and assist in improving the accuracy and efficiency of all processes related to data for performance and audit purposes.
- Support Learners, Staff and Employers in the use of all Learner Information Systems as required to ensure that data held and processed within these systems is accurate and compliant with the GDPR. To provide ad hoc data extractions as required in accordance with GDPR to authorised persons via SQL
- To produce comprehensive documentation of all systems specification and development undertaken and develop appropriate material to support and contribute to staff training for designated systems.
- Assist with preparation for external audits and inspection, providing data and reports as required.
- To perform such other appropriate duties as required by the Head of Education in light of changing demands

Qualifications
- HND/Degree or Equivalent Professional Qualification in IT/Information Systems/Computing Essential
- Ability to speak fluent Welsh Desirable

Experience
- Experience of using and developing database applications Essential

- Software development processes Essential
- Relational databases and SQL Essential
- Good working knowledge of Excel formulas and functions Essential
